Collectives and Curiosities is a cross-arts platform for experimentation, co-directed by composers Jacob Thompson-Bell and Michael Betteridge. We develop interdisciplinary projects playing on connections between sight and sound, and other media. All of our projects are collaborative. Our work is often site-specific – either reclaiming traditional spaces, or engaging with unusual places in any way we can. We also try to find connections between the projects we work on by recycling and re-using our existing pieces (music, video or whatever) in our ongoing projects.
Michael Betteridge is a composer and vocal leader who specialises in writing for and collaborating with non-professionals often in non-traditional spaces. His work often involves using theatrical and non-musical elements as well as using pastiche and familiar musical material. michaelbetteridge.com
